Vegan Makeup Brushes, EcoTools Of the numerous considerations for a vegan, one is making sure your makeup brushes are vegan.

Many makeup brushes have bristles made from animal hair that may or may not be humanly harvested, which is of course far from vegan.

Or if they are vegan, they may not be environmentally friendly… another possible concern depending on your personal preferences.

So wear can we find vegan and environmentally friendly makeup brushes?

Well my favorite are EcoTools. I love them so much that I don’t use anything else!

The handles are bamboo. The covers on the kabuki brushes are recycles metal. And the super soft bristles are made from taklon.

One of the best things about them is that they are really easy to find. I found my first set at my local Walgreen’s. Walmart and Target sells them too.

I just love this because I love convenience. Being vegan doesn’t have to be hard!

They also make bath tools and cosmetic bags. Just last week I got myself a much needed loofah by EcoTools– made out of 100% recycled plastic!

And if they weren’t cool enough, they are endorsed by the fabulous Alicia Silverstone…

Nothing like a vegan celebrity to bring these great products to the general public’s awareness and maybe- just maybe- heighten awareness of the vegan cause.

Have you used makeup brushes from EcoTools?

Hi EVE Eco-tools are really great and I like to use it. I always try to keep clean my makeup brush which helps the brush to lasts longer which I learned from a makeup artist of a make up school. You can clean your brush with shampoo once a week. If you take care, a quality makeup brush can go even ten years. I have seen some new products at ecotools.com like Bamboo Finishing Kabuki, Buffing Brush, Exfoliating EcoPouf, Touch Up Set and the like which are really pretty good!!! Anyway eve thanks for sharing.

In my opinion, the kinds of beurhss you use make a HUGE difference! I used to buy really cheap ones from Target and Walgreens and recently started investing in the more expensive ones. I now have the whole collection of MAC beurhss! The reason I love them so much is because they are handmade and can last up to 10 years if you take care of them. They are costly though, so I reccomended you make a small purchase of some eye beurhss first (those are a definite NECESSITY to me) and then see how you like it from there. If those turn out to be too pricey for you, I realllly like the Sonia Kashuk beurhss from target-those are almost as equally good to me! If you take my advice, here is the list of MAC beurhss i just cant live without, and I hope you try it out because once I first tried it, I never used anything else!!!!1. my number one favorite shadow brush is MACs 224 tapered blending brush- it’s amazing just buy it! you can use any flat brush (a cheap one even ) to pack in the shadow to make it vibrant and then use the 224 brush to blend it out2. MACs 242 flat eyeshadow brush (ideal for smaller lids) or a 252 brush (for larger lids)3. MACs 217-another blending brush! but it’s slightly smaller than the 224, so it makes it easier to control.4. MACs 187 or 189 (i cant remember which one it is) but its a duo fibre foundation brush. It’s really expensive but in my opnion it’s well worth it! But i listed this last, because my eyeshadow beurhss are much more important to me!Hope I helped! =)

I love eco-tools…great alternative to make-up brushes that use animal hair. I do kind of wish they offered a higher-end line though. I’m the type of person who will wash my make-up brushes and keep them a long time. These brushes however, I find coming un-glued (where the metal meets and wood base), which makes it hard to hold on to these for more than a year. I’d rather pay a little more to have brushes that will last longer.

Thanks for your comment. I don’t wash my brushes nearly as often as I should so I haven’t noticed this problem yet. One thing I wish they offered was a larger makeup bag with room to store the many brushes of theirs I have.
