When I was a freshman in college I took a class where we were required to give a presentation that could be on literally anything. So I ordered some pamphlets from Vegan Outreach materials and did a presentation on veganism.
Hard to tell how effective the presentation was…
The class was 30 freshmen at a community college, ranging in age from typical college age to returning students. But at least they got the information.
Everyone has a different approach to how they live out their vegan outreach-
At 17 I was incredibly passionate about vegan outreach. As a lifelong vegan I began to discover why I still chose to be a vegan.
I was out in the world to some extent and could have had a steak, or just some milk in my coffee and no one would have ever known- but I didn’t.
So this period of self-discovery ignited a passion for the lifestyle, and I wanted to spread the cause.
In addition to my presentation at college, I also plastered by vehicle with pro-vegan stickers. I didn’t stop there… I even got a personalized vegan-related license plate.
I have a different approach these days. I tend to go by the live by example method as a way of vegan outreach.
I find that most people are curious when they see me eating my vegan food or not eating non-vegan food. They start asking questions and then I get to fill them in.
How do you approach vegan outreach?
